Chateau de Lastours

Since 2004, Chateau de Lastours has been owned by the Allard family. It boasts two of the family's great passions: an exceptional terroir for the creation of great wines and an extraordinary setting for the development of oenological tourism. It is located at the height of the Corbières mountains, along an ancient Roman route, the "Via Domitia", which linke Narbonne with Spain. The site known as Château de Lastours is composed of a terraced vineyard of 104 hectares, planted at the centre of a property of more than 800 hectares of carved hills and deep canyons. The wines of Château de Lastours are known and renowned worldwide and have obtained the highest honours during tastings both in Europe and in the United States. Château de Lastours has enjoyed, with the arrival of its current owners, a significantly important renaissance.

The Vineyards

The terraced vineyards of about a hundred hectares extend over a hilly property of more than 800 hectares. Reaching 300 meters above sea level, it receives the freshness of the Mediterranean, whose proximity lessens the summer heat. The Mediterranean influence, associated with a terroir of principally clay-limestone soil, is ideal for the development of great wines. In these stony soils, the noble grape varieties of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Cinsault thrive. The array of wines by Château de Lastours is a product created exclusively from the wines harvested on the Lastours domain.
